This is the working range, California to the Florida Keys. 15 and 20 lb for flylining sardines, school-size yellowtail, and pressured fish that count your knots — clear-water bluefin out West, muttons on the patch reefs. 30 through 50 lb when the grade comes up and the structure is close: kelp lines, weed lines, wrecks, mahi and kings on the troll. 60 and 80 lb for cows, tarpon, and the fish that make the deckhand put his coffee down. Every spool is slow-extruded in Japan and runs the thinnest published diameter at its pound test — which is why your bait swims right and line-shy fish commit in clean water. 100% fluorocarbon: near-invisible, fast-sinking, and built to take abuse from kelp, reef, rocks, and gill plates.
