What sleeve should I use with Opsin 250 lb?
Size the sleeve by the measured 1.57 mm diameter. Diamondās CH-18 and CT-180 guides place its 1.6 mm G and SG Silver Lock sleeves at 1.4ā1.6 mm mono or fluorocarbon, so 1.57 mm sits near the top of the published range.
Verify that the leader threads cleanly without shaving, use the matching heavy-duty cavity, and pull-test every completed setup. A 1.6 mm Diamond copper double sleeve is another diameter-based bench test where the manufacturerās tool guide covers 1.3ā1.6 mm.
Diamond Silver Lock G Ā· 1.6 mm
Diamond publishes the G sleeve for 1.4ā1.6 mm mono or fluorocarbon with its CH-18 and CT-180 guides. At 1.57 mm it is near the top of the range, so thread fit and pull-testing matter.
Diamond Copper Double Ā· 1.6 mm
Diamondās published copper-double guide covers 1.3ā1.6 mm mono or fluorocarbon with specified tools. Treat copper as a separate setup and never reuse an aluminum-sleeve compression setting.
Deckhand note: At 1.57 mm, a nominally correct sleeve can still be too tight after finish and tolerance are considered. Do not force the leader through. Reset the tool for the exact sleeve material and pull-test before fishing.
Should I choose 30 m or 110 m?
The 30 m coil is the clean choice for a trip bag or a handful of leaders. The 110 m crew coil drops the cost per metre and makes sense when you rig often, carry backups, or prep for a full season.
How should I store the coil?
Keep it clean, dry, and out of prolonged light and heat. Return the coil to the UV-blocking metallized bag between trips and avoid kinking it under hard tackle.
